What’s the first thing you do after becoming a StudioPress affiliate? Well, assuming you’ve got your own blog professionally themed all ready to go with Genesis, you begin with a stellar article to tout the benefits of the Genesis framework, its ease of installation and use, and so forth. Chances are you’ve already spent a good deal of time preparing your blog for traffic once you’re ready to post. But here’s a suggestion for one simple thing you may have overlooked.

StudioPress offers a simple to use plugin to use when you want to modify the post-info (byline), post-meta, and footer area on any Genesis theme. It’s called Genesis Simple Edits and can easily be added to your WordPress blog for added control. Why not take advantage of the default footer links on all StudioPress themes?

After all of your hard work, someone is bound to take notice of your theme and want to know what theme you’re rocking. Give them an affiliate link to click on! Simply use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin to modify the footer with your affiliate code.

• Install and activate the Genesis Simple Edits plugin to your StudioPress themed WordPress blog.
• Click ‘Simple Edits’ from the Genesis menu in your admin sidebar.
• Place a check mark in the box for Footer Output labeled ‘Modify Entire Footer Text (including markup)’
• Next, change ‘Genesis Framework‘ in the default footer code to your affiliate code, which will look something like this:
  <a href=”http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=241369&u=YOURIDHERE&m=28169&urllink=&afftrack=” target=”_blank”>Genesis Framework</a>
• …and click Save Settings

Now your footer link is promoting the Genesis Framework and Studiopress while driving potential affiliate sales for you. Couldn’t be easier!
