Pinnacle Award Nominees Announced
We’re doubly excited to have both Karen Garcia and BowlingShirt.com nominated for Pinnacle Awards for Affiliate Summit West 2010.
Karen has worked hard on the front lines of the Advertising Tax fight in California, making several trips to the capitol with other passionate industry members to speak to and educate legislators. She has been nominated for Affiliate Marketing Advocate of the Year and we’re very proud of her participation and honored by the nomination.
BowlingShirt.com is up for Exceptional merchant of the Year and is nominated along side Amazon.com and the Ebay Partner network. We are extremely excited to be nominated regardless of the outcome. Of course, we won’t complain if David should happen to overcome two Goliaths.
Thank you for all of the nominations. It is an unexpected and wonderful surprise!
Karen Garcia – ShareASale Performance Awards 2009 Winner!

Our very own Karen Garcia has been recognized by ShareASale for her efforts in defending our industry against the Advertising Tax in California. We couldn’t be more proud of her work as an industry advocate.
There were so many individuals involved in the effort and all worked very hard preparing information for and speaking to state legislators on several occasions. The battle is by no means over and Karen and the rest of the GTO Management team are ready to help.
Affiliate Summit East – Countdown!
Affiliate Summit East 2009 is nearly here! To say that I’m excited is an understatement…I look forward to each and every Affiliate Summit conference for the following reasons:
- I get to meet new affiliates and potential new clients.
- I get to meet affiliates that I’ve worked with (sometimes for years) for the first time in person.
- I get to catch up with old friends and acquaintences.
- I get to host two awesome events with Wade & Joel, the CAMA Gospel Brunch and a super secret event for our client’s affiliates!
- I get to spend an entire weekend NOT explaining what affiliate marketing is!
and best of all, this time, for the very first time, I am a speaker!
Come and listen to me, Brian Littleton of ShareASale, Melanie Seery of Affiliate Voice and Beth Kirsch, volunteer for the Performance Marketing Alliance on the Advertising Tax Impact, Accomplishments and the Future.
Will you be at Affiliate Summit in New York? Let us know! We’d love to set aside some time to talk shop, shoot the breeze and find how we can help you with any of our programs or services.
Affiliate Summit Success Tip:
Now, I’ve been to a lot of Summits over the years, so over the next week, I’ll be posting tips for how to make your Affiliate Summit experience a success! Today’s tip: Plan ahead! You really don’t want to be standing at the door to the Meet Market reading the agenda…you’ll miss out on great sessions and opportunities if you are!
Step One: Download this: AffiliateSummit2009-East_Schedule This is a simple spreadsheet you can print out on a single sheet of paper and take with you. I’ve been using this for years and our team swears by it.
Step Two: Decide what sessions you will attend by reading the descriptions in the Affiliate Summit Agenda. Mark them on the spreadsheet. Be sure to sign up and mark the parties you plan on attending as well…some of the best deals and networking happen here, so don’t skip out!
Step Three: Print out the schedule and take it with you. I keep mine folded up in my pocket at all times. (Be sure to select the “Print to one page” option to get it all on one sheet.) Not only will it keep you on track and remind you about events, it’s great for jotting down notes and scheduling impromptu meetings.
Check back here tomorrow for another Affiliate Summit Success tip!
